We are located in an area of oustanding natural beauty just to the west of Cromer. The village has two large commons, but Mallards Rest is just a few hundred yards behind the main Coast Road which has an excellent bus service to both Cromer and Sheringham and beyond, including Norwich. If you choose to leave your car and use public transport this is an ideal spot.
The village has two pubs, a convenience store and chip shop. There are enjoyable and easy walks in all directions with plenty to see.
From peaceful country pubs in quite villages to a surprising variety of beaches and seaside towns North Norfolk is a special place that offers something for all visitors. There is a wide variety of beaches and a diverse coastline with nature playing a prominent part.
There's a variety of different events taking place throughout the year. The National Trust's Felbrigg Hall is only two miles away and has many great walks on a vast country estate. Blickling Hall and Holkham Hall are close by too and even larger still.
Nearby Cley is well known for its birdwatching opportunities. The beach at West Runton is great for rock pooling or hunting small fossils or even a Woolly Mammoth. From Sheringham you can catch the Poppy Line to the Georgian town of Holt with its good range of shops.
